It features the Sun God of Jayuya wearing a surgical mask (Covid-19 era creation). The Sun God of Jayuya is a symbol drawn by the Taínos, the native people who lived in P.R. when Columbus arrived. They used it as one of the symbols used to represent the sun; it was mainly found carved in the rocks of the town of Jayuya.

Lola Rodríguez de Tió, the first Puerto Rican-born woman poet to establish her reputation as a great poet throughout Latin America. A believer in women's rights, she was also committed to the abolition of slavery and the independence of Puerto Rico. She wrote the original lyrics to the revolutionary version of "La Borinqueña".
